Robert Griffin III continues to sit in a team controversy. (USATSI)

If you felt another layer needed to be added to the burgeoning controversy of Robert Griffin III subtly saying the Eagles coaches might have out-schemed the Redskins coaches in Week 11, we now have it.

After Griffin's statement, Mike Shanahan said he disagreed, and later, receiver Santana Moss said Griffin needed to take on more personal responsibility for his mistakes.

Report: Robert Griffin III called the wrong protection on late-game INT

That could be because Griffin also said this week that one reason he threw the ball up for grabs during the play in question was because none of his receivers could get open, and that because he knew he couldn't take a sack in that situation, he was trying to throw the ball out of the back of the end zone. But his receivers didn't seem pleased with the insinuation.

Perhaps this is why. Check out what CSN Washington's Chick Hernandez tweeted Wednesday night:

Redskins team sources confirm to me Robert Griffin III called the wrong protection on their final offensive play. His postgame comments regarding "no one got open" rubbed teammates the wrong way considering the miscommunication. Today the locker room was unified in their support of the QB. #redskinstalkIn case you missed the play in question ...

In other words, life seems to be getting awfully tense in the Redskins locker room.
